Frequently Asked Questions

A subluxation is the presence of nervous system interference/stress.
Since your spine houses your spinal cord (a major part of your nervous system), chiropractors can analyze & adjust the spine to affect the nervous system.
Chiropractic adjustments help to restore proper motion to a joint, remove interference to the nervous system, and send information to the brain that helps the brain to better communicate with the body.

Chiropractic care can be beneficial for anyone who experiences stress (physical, chemical, or mental/emotional)— which is pretty much everyone! In our office, we care for people of all ages.
After an initial consultation, both you & the doctor will decide if our office is a good fit for you!
-
Yes! In fact, chiropractic care can be extremely beneficial for children. The first subluxation often occurs at birth. The sooner it is corrected, the less likely symptoms will arise or worsen.
Chiropractic care also helps children to function optimally by keeping their nervous systems free from interference.
-
Absolutely not! While many patients do experience improvement in pain with chiropractic care, it is not the only benefit of care.
Chiropractic care does not treat any diseases. Chiropractic care does remove nervous system interference, allowing the brain & body to communicate and function more effectively.
Many patients notice improvement in symptoms such as digestive trouble, allergies, headaches, and range of motion.

The Three T’s are traumas, toxins, & thoughts. These are the three main causes of subluxation (nervous system interference/stress).
In our office, we want to
1) reduce the Three T’s in your life
2) make your nervous system more adaptable & resilient (because you can’t completely avoid the Three T’s)
3) detect & correct existing subluxations to free you of nervous system interference

We do not currently take x-rays in our office.
However, we may refer you to a nearby imaging center for x-rays if we believe they are necessary following our initial history/examination.
We may also refer you for x-rays during care in certain circumstances (ex: car accident).
If you have copies of previous imaging studies or reports, please bring them with you to your initial appointment.

For Medicare patients, we will collect a limiting charge and send your bill to Medicare. If you are entitled to reimbursement, Medicare and/or your secondary insurance will send it directly to you. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.
For all other insurances, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance. Many patients with out-of-network chiropractic benefits are able to receive reimbursement.
Most HSA/FSA cards can also be used for payment!
In order to provide the best patient care at an affordable cost, we are not in network with any other insurances.
This means that we are not held to the restrictions set by your insurance company with regards to your care. We believe that your health care decisions should be between you & your doctor, instead of being influenced by your insurance.
Most insurance companies will only cover chiropractic care for musculoskeletal conditions (a muscle or bone problem causing pain).
This restriction ignores the value of regular chiropractic care for optimal nervous system functioning & overall wellness. Chiropractic care for many of the common conditions we see in the office would not be a covered service by insurance companies.
We have found that with out-of-network benefits, our prices are comparable to or less than many copays.

It all depends. Everybody is different and heals at different speeds. Some patients find relief after just one adjustment, although most see significant impact when they reach their first reassessment. Every adjustment does put you closer to better health.
The more dedicated you are to reclaiming your health, the quicker you will see results.
Remember that symptoms are telling you that you are not adapting well to the stressors in your life. As you remove the stressors & improve your nervous system’s ability to handle the stressors, symptoms often start to disappear.
-
Getting adjusted should not hurt. In fact, many patients report that they feel relaxed after an adjustment.
You may experience some soreness, similar to after you workout, following an adjustment. This is more common when you first start care.

The “popping” noise commonly associated with a chiropractic adjustment is called a cavitation. It is the result of a change in pressure in the joint and is not the sound of damage to any bones or tissues.
A cavitation may happen with certain adjusting techniques. Typically, a cavitation is not heard with the techniques commonly used in our office.
A cavitation is not an indication that a successful adjustment has been performed.
